St. Joan of Knights Football Program

St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School open in the fall of 2001. The football program at St. Joan of Arc began competitive play in September 2002 with a single varsity team representing the school. Since that inaugural season, Knights football has expanded by offering a junior team (grades 9 and 10) and senior team (grades 11 and 12). The Knights football program is a fully inclusive athletic program which involves between 80 and 100 student-athletes as well as 8 full-time teacher coaches from the JOA school community. Our junior and senior teams compete for both the CSASC (Catholic Schools Athletics of Simcoe County) and the GBSSA (Georgian Bay Secondary School Athletics) football titles.

Our junior and senior teams have experienced great success at both the local and provincial level. Our teams have won the following titles:

 Junior CSASC titles – 2015, 2016

Junior GBSSA titles – 2010, 2015

Senior CSASC titles – 2015, 2016

Senior GBSSA titles – 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015

Senior OFSAA Bowl games – 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015

Senior OFSAA Bowl game winners – 2012, 2013

Our players have also enjoyed individual success at the Canadian Intercollegiate level. Seventeen former Knights have played at least one season of CIS/Usports (Canadian university) football. These 17 players include 5 players who are currently active on university rosters. Notably, John Connors was a 4 year starter with the University of Toronto Varsity Blues and East-West Bowl game participant and Terry Hart was an Atlantic Canada All-Star, East-West Bowl participant and CFL draft pick of the Saskatchewan Roughriders while playing for the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men.

Our program has traveled and played internationally in the state of Michigan. Knights’ football has continued to promote and enhance football locally by hosting the annual Simcoe County football camp at the end of May each year. Knights’ football is just one of the many highly successful co-curricular programs at JOA. St. Joan of Arc CHS encourages all of its students to get active and be involved.

 Go Knights Go!!!
