Welcome to the 2019/2020 School Year!

Welcome to the 2019/2020 school year! We hope that you have had a relaxing and enjoyable summer with friends and loved ones and are ready for a successful school year. For those returning, we warmly welcome you back. For our new families, we would like to welcome you to our school community. We are happy that you have chosen a Catholic education for your child and we hope that you always feel at home at St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School.

As we are preparing for the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year there are a few important dates and details that we would like to make you aware of:

Main Office & Guidance Office: The main office and guidance office are now open.

Guidance Appointments: The guidance office will be open on August 26th, 27th and 29th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on a first come first serve basis should a student need to make a guidance appointment regarding course selection. (Please note the guidance office will not be open for timetable changes on August 28th or 30th). It is not necessary for students to make timetable changes during this time as students will have the opportunity to make timetable changes during the first week of school.

First Day of School and Finalized Timetables: Our first day of school is Tuesday, September 3rd. Period 1 homerooms will be posted in the main foyer. Students will receive their timetables in their period 1 homeroom.

Grade 9 Drop in and Welcome Day: Will take place on Wednesday, August 28th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

2019-2020 School Year Begins: Tuesday, September 3rd.

e-Newsletter: In this age of environmental awareness, we are trying to make our communication with you more eco-friendly. We will be sending regular electronic communication via the JOA website ‘e-newsletter ’ tool. We will use this tool to send notifications for important happenings at JOA (ie. dates, report card info etc..).We are asking that you please help spread the word to parents who have not yet subscribed to this e-tool. Parents can register through our website ( ). From the home page simply click on ‘e-newsletter’ then ‘subscribe’ and enter your email address.

School Day Reminder: A reminder that JOA has transitioned to the online portal School Day. School Day is an online cashless system for use by parents, school staff and office administrative staff. We are implementing School Day to minimize the handling of cash at school, streamline/simplify payment options for parents, and reduce paper. This online portal will allow you to complete permission forms, and pay for any school service, product or event. Registration information was sent home in the spring and again with final report cards. If you have not yet registered for School Day you are asked to do so prior to September 3rd.

On behalf of the entire JOA staff, we look forward to working closely with parents, students, staff and community members to ensure that this is an exciting, fulfilling, and rewarding year for all of our students.
