Hello Summer!

It is difficult to believe that we have finished yet another school year. The year end is a time of mixed emotions in our school community as we celebrate the accomplishments and exciting activities of the 2018-2019 and also say goodbye to our Grade 12 graduating students. We congratulate our graduates on their achievements and wish them well in their future endeavors.
It has been a wonderful and busy year! From academics, to leadership, the arts, athletics, co-curriculars, technology, mission work, volunteering, and much more, I am reminded daily of how blessed we are to belong to such a dynamic community. I would like to thank the students for their commitment to their academics and their involvement in school life. I would also like to thank the staff at Joan of Arc for all their hard work and the countless roles and hours they take on both inside and outside the classroom. It is these efforts and dedication that make Joan of Arc a truly AWESOME faith filled place to be.
I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge a few key people that we will be leaving Joan of Arc. Firstly, we have a few staff members who will be leaving JOA to and taking on a new adventure at a different school within our board; Mrs. Bucarelli, Ms K. Harrison, Mr. Z. Johnson, Ms MacKinlay, Ms Pino-Martone and Ms Tibbett. We thank you for all you have done for us at JOA and wish you nothing but success with your new adventure.
In addition, Mr. Grace, Mr. Filo-Carroll, Mrs. Filo-Carroll and Mr. Stemmler will be retiring. Each of these teachers has very unique talents and passions that they bring to JOA. They do however have two things in common, their commitment to our students and to life at JOA. To all of our retirees, JOA has been made a richer place through your service. Please please know each of you have made a lasting imprint in the lives of the staff and students you have served.
Lastly, Ms Sheehan has been a vice-principal with the SMCDSB for seven years, the last four of which have been at JOA. Ms Sheehan has been beyond outstanding in her role as a vice principal here at Joan of Arc. I am very happy to share that Ms. Sheehan has been promoted to principal at St. Thomas Aquinas in Tottenham. STA is so fortunate to have you at the helm.
As we wrap up the 2018-2019 school year there are a few important dates and items that we would like to make you aware of:
