Dear Parents and Guardians of Future Knights, 

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you as you take your next steps in supporting your child(ren) on their educational journey.  This is an exciting time for parents and students as they prepare to leave elementary schools and head off to the world of secondary education. We are just as excited to welcome them to our school community. I want to thank you for considering St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School as your child's secondary destination.  

Typically this time of year we invite and welcome parents and students to our Grade 8 Parent Information Night. Like many things, we have modified the way this information is going to be presented. We have created a Grade 8 Parent Information video for you to watch at your convenience. The link to the video is below. This video is designed to highlight what life at JOA looks like, the supports available to students, and information you need to know with regards to registration and course selection. 

In addition to this video, Ms Fraser, Chairperson of Guidance and Mrs. Timpano, the incoming Grade 9 Guidance Counsellor, have met with each Grade 8 class from our feeder schools including our Grade 8 virtual students about their transition to JOA. They have enjoyed this opportunity to get to know the students. Each student has also been added to our JOA Guidance Department Brightspace course. This is a great resource and contains pertinent transition information and we encourage you to review it with your child regularly. Ms Fraser and Mrs. Timpano are going to visit classrooms in February before course choices are due to say hello and answer any last minute questions.
